Rhyme & Chime of Public Speaking

Want to have fun, Be Child - like,
If you want to learn, Be Child - like.

Don’t try to win, just have fun,
Dont keep score, just enjoy the run.

Serious is boring, Ego is sin,
A touch of humour, will always win.

Create suspense, Show some style,
Do some magic, make us smile.

Walk with power, Smile and Calm,
Let your hand flow, with open palm.

Whatever you aim, the God will grant,
You should be clear, in what you want.

What you speak, definitely rate,
How you speak, can make you great.

If time is must, prepare in blocks,
Add or delete, to beat the clocks.

Dont quote books, don’t talk theory,
To make them move, tell a true story.

Eye-Contact is an excellent art,
Use it and reach to every heart.

Speak with love, speak with tact,
Speak from heart, it will have impact.

Leave the cage, go fly high,
It’s your day, touch the sky.

what is falling in love

May 8th, 2005 by diony

When u think of ur past love, u may view it as a
failure. But when u find a new love, u view the
past as a teacher.

In the game of love, it doesnt really matter who
won or who lost. What is important is u know
when to hold on and when to let go!

U know u really love someone when u want him or
her to be happy even if his or her happiness
means that u are not part of it.

Everything happens for the best.

If the person u love doesnt love u back, dont be
afraid to love someone else again, for u will never
know unless u give it a try. u will never love a
person u love unless u risk for love.

Love strikes in hurting. If u dont get hurt, u dont
learn how to love. Love doesnt hurt all the time.

Though the hurting is still there to test u, to help u
grow. Dont find love, let love find u. That is why it
is called falling in love because u dont force urself to
fall. u just fall.

U cannot finish a book without closing its
chapters. If u want to go on, then u have to leave
the past as u turn the pages.

Love is not destroyed by a single failure or won
by a single caress. It is a lifetime venture in which we
are always learning, discovering and growing.

The greatest irony of love is letting go when u
need to hold on and holding on when u need to let go.

We lose someone we love only when we are
destined to find someone else who can love us
even more than we can love ourselves.

On falling out of love, take some time to heal and
then get back on the horse. But dont ever make
the same mistake of riding the same one that
threw u the first time.

To love is to risk rejection; to live is to risk dying,
to hope is to risk failure. But risk must be taken
because the greatest hazard in life is risking
nothing!

To reach for another is to risk involvement, to
expose ur feelings is to expose true self. To love
is to risk not to be loved in return.

How to define love; fall but not stumble, be
constant but not too persistent, share and never
be unfair, understand and try not to demand, hurt but
never keep the pain.

Love is like a knife. It can stab the heart or it can
carve wonderful images into the soul that always
last for a lifetime.

Love is supposed to be the most wonderful
feeling. It should inspire u and give u joy and strength. But
sometimes the things that give u joy can also hurt
you in the end.

Loving people means giving them the freedom that
they choose to be and where they choose to be.
Loving someone means giving him or her the
freedom to find his or her way, whether it lead
towards u or away from u.

Love is a painful risk to take but the risk must be
taken, no matter how scary or painful, for only
then u will experience the fullness of humanity and that
is love.

Only love can hurt ur heart, fill u with desire and
tear u apart. Only love can make u cry and only
love knows why.

If u are not ready to cry, if u are not ready to take
the risk, if u are not ready to feel the pain, then u
are not ready to fall in love.

There was a time in our lives when we became
afraid to fall in love because every time we do, we
get hurt, then I figured that is why it is called falling
in love.

Whatever happened, dont give up! It is just a trial.
Have faith in urself and cheer up. When u decide
to love, allow it to grow. When u promise to love,
refuse it to die!

Know more about SCORPIO!

May 2nd, 2005 by diony

Determined, aggressive and shrewd, you are rarely passive or neutral about anything. Ruled by Pluto you are someone that can put the fear even into a Leo. You are sexual, reproduction and survival seem important to you, moreso than the average person. But you have a natural charm that has many in awe. Deep, often quite secretive and reserved, you are at times jealous, resentful and even vengeful. Your recuperative powers are remarkable. You are a truth-seeker; you have keen judgment and penetrating insight, and these qualities enable you to exercise a great deal of authority over others. Science, medicine or any field of intrigue are right up your alley. Willpower and persistence are your strong points, and although you are somewhat reticent, when prodded you can become outspoken and direct.

You see life as a means of self-discovery through trial and error. You seek shared experiences at every opportunity, and you have an easy, charming, gracious and impersonal feeling for humanity. You have a deep need for everyone to like you and have a natural courtesy, charm and diplomatic manner; your emotional well-being depends upon approval of others, and so you are eager to please. You tend to live for the moment and you run the scale of highs and lows with every shift of events. You are friendly, easy-going and popular, but if you use this position negatively you can be capricious, fickle and critical. Because you easily succumb to flattery, you must consciously develop self-reliance and learn how to say no. You must curb your tendencies to indolence and flirtation. Your sense impressions are strong aesthetically; you feel a need to serve beauty. You experience the senses through the mind, and you evaluate the facts, but you do not criticize or analyze them. The Libra mind is more contemplative; you build great ideas, but you are not always ready to act on them. For you judgment is more important than execution. Decisiveness is not usually a strong quality with this placement, but your illusive sweetness hides a great strength. You have a fondness for music, poetry and the arts. Although you have some ability in these fields, you usually prefer to appreciate rather than perform. Affectionate and good-natured, you are often in demand in social circles. The people around you affect you, and your love life depends on how much you are appreciated. Partners are important to you since you work best in conjunction with others, and because you are dependent on their reactions.

Scorpio Character Traits

May 2nd, 2005 by diony

There are two symbols for Scorpio - the scorpion, with its legendary sting and the eagle, which soars aloft to great heights.

‘I DESIRE’ is the motto for Scorpio. You are intensely emotional and strongly aware of the darker side of human nature. You don’t live on the surface of life, but experience it at its deepest levels.

You possess an iron will, a strong ego and a unique personal magnetism. You make a loyal friend and a passionate lover.

You’re also intuitive, ambitious and have a penetrating mind. You have a burning need to uncover what is hidden, whether it’s a mystery or someone else’s innermost secrets. You’re rarely who you appear to be on the outside and are not easy to get to know.

You also have a tendency to brood and to bear grudges and can be suspicious and vindictive.

You are the investigators of the zodiac.

friendship poem

April 27th, 2005 by diony

A Friend is a Treasure
A friend is someone we turn to,
when our spirits need a lift.
A friend is someone we treasure,
for our friendship is a gift.
A friend is someone who fills our lives,
with beauty, joy and grace.
And make the world we live in,
a better and happier place.

Friendships come and Friendships go
Like wave upon the sand
Like day and night
Like birds in flight
Like snowflakes when they land
But you and I are something else
Our friendship’s here to stay
Like weeds and rocks and dirty socks
It never goes away!

A BEST FRIEND
A best friend
is always there,
whether you need advice,
or a pep talk,
or even a shoulder to cry on.
A best friend
listens with her heart
and is always honest with you,
even though the truth
may not be
what you want to hear.
A best friend
knows all your secrets,
understands your fears
shares your dreams.
A best friend
never stops believing in you
even if you give up
on yourself.
you are
that kind of friend
to me.
And no matter what happens,
you always will be.
You are my best friend….
my forever friend.

By: Renee Duvall

A friend is a person
to laugh and cry with,
An inspiration,
Someone who lends a helping hand,
though friends may not be forever,
And they may not end up together,
the memories of a true friendship will
last forever.
A friend is not a shadow nor a servant
But someone who hold
a piece of a person in his heart.
Someone who shares a smile,
Someone who brightens up your day
What makes a person a friend?
Is by saying your Love will stay.

a friendship story

April 27th, 2005 by diony

One day, when I was a freshman in high school, I saw a kid from my class was walking home from school.  His name was Kyle.  It looked like he was carrying all of his books.  I thought to myself, ‘Why would anyone bring home all his books on a Friday?  He must really be a nerd.’  I had quite a weekend planned (parties and a football game with my friend tomorrow afternoon), so I shrugged my shoulders and went on.

As I was walking, I saw a bunch of kids running towards him.  They ran at him, knocking all his books out of his arms and tripping him so he landed in the dirt. His glasses went flying, and I saw them land in the grass about ten feet from him.  He looked up and I saw this terrible sadness in his eyes.  My heart went out to him.  So, I jogged over to him and as he crawled around looking for his glasses, and I saw a tear in his eye.  As I handed him his glasses, I said, ‘Those guys are jerks. They really should get lives.’  He looked at me and said, ‘Hey thanks!’  There was a big smile on his face.  It was one of those smiles that showed real gratitude.  I helped him pick up his books, and asked him where he lived.  As it turned out, he lived near me, so I asked him why I had never seen him before.  He said he had gone to private school before now.  I would have never hung out with a private school kid before.  We talked all the way home, and I carried his books.  He turned out to be a pretty cool kid.  I asked him if he wanted to play football on Saturday with me and my friends.  He said yes.  We hung all weekend and the more I got to know Kyle, the more I liked him.  And my friends thought the same of him.  Monday morning came, and there was Kyle with the huge stack of books again.  I stopped him and said,  ‘Damn boy, you are gonna really build some serious muscles with this pile of books everyday!’  He just laughed and handed me half the books.

Over the next four years, Kyle and I became best friends.  When we were seniors, we began to think about college.  Kyle decided on

Georgetown

, and I was going to Duke.  I knew that we would always be friends, that the miles would never be a problem.  He was going to be a doctor, and I was going for business on a football scholarship.  Kyle was valedictorian of our class . I teased him all the time about being a nerd.  He had to prepare a speech for graduation.  I was so glad it wasn’t me having to get up there and speak.  Graduation day, I saw Kyle.  He looked great.  He was one of those guys that really found himself during high school.  He filled out and actually looked good in glasses.  He had more dates than me and all the girls loved him!  Boy, sometimes I was jealous.  Today was one of those days.  I could see that he was nervous about his speech.  So, I smacked him on the back and said, ‘Hey, big guy, you’ll be great!’  He looked at me with one of those looks (the really grateful one) and smiled.  ‘Thanks,’ he said.

As he started his speech, he cleared his throat, and began.  ‘Graduation is a time to thank those who helped you make it through those tough years.  Your parents, your teachers, your siblings, maybe a coach… but mostly your friends.  I am here to tell all of you that being a friend to someone is the best gift you can give them.  I am going to tell you a story.’  I just looked at my friend with disbelief as he told the story of the first day we met.  He had planned to kill himself over the weekend.  He talked of how he had cleaned out his locker so his Mom wouldn’t have to do it later and was carrying his stuff home.  He looked hard at me and gave me a little smile.  ‘Thankfully, I was saved.  My friend saved me from doing the unspeakable.’  I heard the gasp go through the crowd as this handsome, popular boy told us all about his weakest moment.  I saw his Mom and dad looking at me and smiling that same grateful smile. Not until that moment did I realise it’s depth.

Never underestimate the power of your actions.  With one small gesture you can change a person’s life.  For better or for worse.
